With the theme, “We Make Change Work for Women”, the Branch joined the nation in celebrating the 2020 women’s month.
“In these times, women are not contained to traditional or conventional roles, but are given equal opportunities as our male counterparts. This celebration has grown from modest beginnings throughout the years”, Branch GAD Focal Person Marissa Padua said, in a kick-off program on 04 March 2020. After which, lectures with interactive discussions on Laws on Working Women and other Labor Related Issues and Mental Health in the Workplace followed.
On 06 March 2020, the Branch joined the RAGE-1 in the kick-off celebration of the Regional Women’s month celebration. The activity started with the zumba dance and ended with the health and wellness fair.
The Branch also watched CineJuana films aimed to celebrate the strengths and victories of women with the help of men in the conquest of secular, spiritual, social and personal concerns.
The Branch also participated in the national campaign thru wearing of GAD shirt every Fridays of the Month. IEC Materials were also reproduced from PCW which has been placed at the office help desk. Online advocacy with the hashtag #WeMakeChange, women’s month banner was uploaded to the Branch official website and Facebook page.
On 16 March 2020, Health and Wellness cook-off was successfully conducted. Branch male personnel showed their cooking skills and was rated by the women personnel accordingly. (by Marissa Padua, edited by Lester Panem)
